Matthew Strissel grew up in Rudyard, Montana where he developed a curiosity for studying the natural world. He received his associate degree in photographic communication from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, where he worked as Editor-in-Chief of the Northwest Trail newspaper. He later moved home, where he worked at the Havre Daily News as a photographer and page designer. With a passion for journalism, Matthew then pursued his bachelor’s degree in photojournalism at Northern Arizona University. After working as a photographer, as well as Print Chief at The Lumberjack newspaper for three semesters, Matthew was selected to be the Editor-in-Chief for The Lumberjack. After graduating, Cum Laude, from NAU, he is now working as the Sports Editor for the Lewistown News-Argus in Lewistown, Montana.
